CDK Company | Somebody That I Used To Know

Somebody That I Used To Know came together in the most straightforward way. Sergio Reis sent me a simple message asking if I was available on a specific date. After my yes, the response was short and decisive. “Put it in your calendar.” Very little was discussed beforehand, which is often how the best CDK projects begin.

I filmed the piece and handled the color grading. At the time, it felt familiar. In earlier years I was closely involved with CDK, creating work at a high pace, where projects like this were part of a natural creative flow rather than isolated moments. This shoot felt like stepping back into that rhythm without hesitation or expectation.

My relationship with CDK, and with Sergio, is built on long-term trust and shared intuition. Sergio’s vision is extremely strong, and my role is to support and translate that vision rather than challenge it. There was no pressure and no doubt during the process. It simply felt natural.

The video went on to reach over 40 million views across multiple social media platforms. For me, however, the true value lies elsewhere. Work like this brings out the most creative version of myself. After days like these, I always leave feeling reset, grounded, and creatively alive.
