Director of Photography & Color Grading
Bittersuite is an experimental dance visual created around the artistic world and visual language of Billie Eilish. The piece draws inspiration from her distinct atmosphere. Strange, bold, and deliberately unconventional. The intention from the start was to create something that could exist within her universe. That goal was reached when Billie herself reposted the video, marking the moment the project fully landed.
I was responsible for camera and color grading. Visually, we aimed for a bright yet slightly cold and surreal look, leaning into clarity rather than darkness or theatricality. This piece was never meant to feel staged. It lives in experimentation, texture, and atmosphere.
The biggest challenge was the location. The video was shot at Museum Voorlinden, one of the most prominent museums in the Netherlands. Everything had to be captured outside opening hours within a very limited timeframe, while working carefully around valuable artworks. Sergio’s studio sketches already defined every cut, transition, and camera movement, making the execution focused and efficient.
This project earns its place in my selected work because it shows a different side of my practice. More artsy, more surreal, and far removed from structure or commercial expectation.
